Carl Leo Roby

Carl Leo Roby, 66, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020, peacefully in his home. He was born December 27, 1953 in Des Moines to Robert and Patricia (Bordenaro) Roby.

Carl graduated from Roosevelt High School and later obtained is Associate of Arts degree from DMACC in 2015. He prided himself on being a lifelong learner. Carl married Cheryl Black on March 21, 1987 and started a family. He had a passion for motorcycles,
particularly Harley Davidson, and tinkering with anything he could place his hands on.

Carl’s greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was considered by those that knew him as a kind man with a gentle soul.

Carl is survived by his wife, Cheryl Black; daughter, Jessica Roby Poe; son, Andrew Roby; sisters, Pamela Roby Collins and Patricia Roby Borgen; eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Per his wishes, the family has respectfully chosen to do a private celebration of his life at one of his favorite parks.
