Wayne and I will miss our lunch visits as we travel east on vacations. Curtis always knew his surroundings and where he would like us to take him for lunch. His friendship and memories of him and Franka will always have a special place in our hearts as treasures. He had the most beautiful blue eyes that always seemed to be smiling. We miss him so already.
Peace and love to his daughters, their spouses, and grandchildren.

Melanie, Melissa and Families,
I was deeply sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Im sorry was not able to attend his funeral. I remember him as a truly loving, strong and very supportive parent. He was without a doubt one of our greatest fans of the Holy Trinity and Dowling girls basketball teams.
I know you will miss him dearly.
I hope you are all well and safe.
God Bless you,
Frank Vito

What a wonderful man! We met Curtis during his stay at Bishop Drumm. He was always helping and advocating for other residents there. We always enjoyed seeing Curtis and had many a rousing game of Rummikub over the years. He was a very good Rummikub as well as Cribbage player. We have missed getting to spend time with him since Covid and are sad to not be able to attend his funeral in person. Our condolences to his whole family. Through the mercy of God may he rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon him!

i only met Curt a few times when he would visit Melissa and her family. He always had a story to share with me if I pressed him. H certainly raised a wonderful daughter. There will be a whole in her life for the time she spent outside his window, trying to fix food he would eat and advocating for him. my heart aches for her and his family.

I was fortunate to work alongside Curt for several years at the JD Des Moines Works in Ankeny, especially the last year until my retirement in March 1997 where we were assigned the work orders as a "roaming" team as opposed to a particular department. I drove the JD utility tractor, Curt rode along and when we arrived at the offending machine site he generally would say "Stay in the tractor Mel; I got this." Between the two of us we got all the assigned machines up and running in generally short order. I thought of him as a Gentle Giant, cheerful and never complaining. May the Peace that passes all understanding be yours and God's will be done.

I have prayers and fond memories of Curtis, a loving and caring man to everyone he met. I am blessed to have been able to know him. May the love of his many friends comfort his family during this time and may his soul rest in God's peace.
