Michael Snodgrass

Michael Snodgrass, age 45, of Des Moines, IA went to be with Jesus on October 8, 2020, after battling cancer. He was born in Mt. Morris, IL to Paula Marie Snodgrass. He moved to Des Moines to attend Drake University, where he made many life-long friends, including his wife, Erica (Harris). They have been married for fifteen years and have four beautiful children, whom he loved beyond measure. He graduated from DMACC and Iowa State University in Mechanical Engineering and was fortunate to work in the field of sustainable energy at MidAmerican.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jenny Snodgrass; his mother, Marie; his aunts Ruth and Anita Snodgrass. He is survived by his wife, Erica, children Nicholas, Alexander, Benjamin, and Emma; his aunt, Virginia Snodgrass; uncle, Earl Martin; cousin, Mandy Spengler and her children. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved in-laws, Susi and Don Head, Kiah Harris, Kevin and Elle Harris, Tim and Kaelyn Head, Mitch and Teri King, and nieces & nephews.
Michael was always looking to the future with more plans and dreams than a long life could have held. He was a superb father and had a passion to see the fatherless be mentored. His love of knowledge and desire to see the world be a better place, his humor and engaging personality were evident to all who knew him. He spent countless evenings answering the children’s questions, teaching & guiding them and playing music at bedtime. His love for and devotion to his wife was unparalleled.
A private memorial service will be held at Oakwood United Methodist Church. A live stream of the service will be available at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at www.oakwoodlife.org.

I knew Mike from working with him in the renewable field. We always exchanged ideas and experiences and i found him to be an awesome individual. We lost a good one in the field. My prayers are with all the family and friends that are impacted! Rest in Peace my friend!!!
