Rodney Davis

Rodney passed away at home on June 12, 2009 at the age of 61 from cancer. He was born December 3, 1946 and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and Drake University. He spent time in the Army and afterwards worked as a consumer safety inspector for United States Testing Company before taking an early retirement to enjoy life.
Rodney loved his family, friends, and spending summers at the family cabin in Canada. He was a kind, gentle, giving man and will be remembered with many memories through out the years by everyone who knew him.
Rodney was the last bachelor of his group of friends until he and Gerrie married after being best friends for over 15 years. Rodney leaves behind his loving wife, Gerrie Davis of Clive; son, Mark Humphrey; daughter, Marci Aller; granddaughter, Alex Colby, all of West Des Moines; a brother, Steve (Mary) Davis of Olathe, KS; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Maxine Davis and his beloved brother Bill Davis.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. A visitation and reception will immediately follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, who enabled Rodney to spend his last weeks at home.
