Charles Raymond Wilbert

Charles Raymond "Bud" Wilbert Sr., 82, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at The Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery where military honors will be performed.
Bud was born December 24, 1926 in Des Moines, the son of William Sr. and Anna (Johnson) Wilbert. He proudly served his country as a World War II Army Veteran and was a retired Union Bricklayer for Joe Swift.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elsie Wilbert; son, Charles "Buddy" (Dianne) Wilbert Jr.; daughters, Sue (Morris) May and Nancy (Ron) Beghtel; 9 grandchildren, Bill (Chris) May, Missy (Danny) Brown, Christy (Mike) Grubb, Angela (Cory) Flinn, Tammy Bishop, Wendi (Scott) Lathrop, Bob (Missie) Beghtel, Scottie (In Memory), Jim (Heidi) Metz; 23 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Matt, Riley, Reid, Danielle, Cody, Natasha, Wyatt, Gearet, Twanice, Jeremy, Austin, Logan, Makenna, Luke, Ashley, Amber, Faith, Micah, Noah, Corey, Shane, Josie; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Jace, Jillian, Kaylin, Abby, Damien and many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many wonderful friends.
The family will greet friends prior to the funeral from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Opportunity Center, 1602 N. 14th St., Indianola, Iowa, 50125.
