Aunt Louise was not only my aunt but my friend too.I had not seen her since I was a little girl(because I live so far away) but we exchanged cards, letters, and e-mails for many years. She loved and collected Oscar The Grouch stuff, the greeting card character Maxine, and nurse items(I always tried to give her gifts to add to her collections) .She was always wanting to cheer people up with cards,hand-made gifts and of course hugs. She would go out her way to help family & friends whom she loved.I looked forward to her e-mails brightening my day as I am sure they brightened many others too.I remember my Aunt Louise as a dedicated nurse; the perfect job for a person who loved and cared for people. I will miss her wholeheartedly!

Jay and family...So sorry for your loss...Sort of ironic that Aunt Louise passes just after I found her on Facebook..Was sooooo looking forward to meeting up with her and the family again after 30 years...Guess it will have to be in heaven now...Take care and will be seeing you soon....Nancy Bennett

Louise was a very special lady, I worked with her at Des Moines General and she was indeed the hug lady, always had a hug and a smile for you. I also loved working with her because you knew you could count on her. I have many good memories of Louise, all of them good. When she found out i lived in Ankeny she would always drop by with Christmas ornaments and magnets that she made for my kids. I will miss you and never forget you Louise.

Louise will always hold a special place in my heart. She always had a special smile and a hug for those of us that were lucky enough to know her. Her son and grandchildren were always first in her heart. We worked together at Des Moines General for several years and stayed in touch thereafter. My friend I will think of you each day and miss you. A SPECIAL ANGEL HAS GONE HOME AND HEAVEN IS BLESSED WITH THE HUG LADY.

I will always remember you for your "hugs", and being such a good friend to me. I enjoyed working with you on 9 south at Mercy Hospital many years ago. You were such a loving person. I will never forget you. You talked about Jay often, he meant so much to you, and he gave you 3 grandchildren!!! Be their guardian angel, Louise. Until we meet again, Donna Hoskinson.
