Esther Jacobs

Esther Jacobs, 85, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at home. She was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and a member of Grace Church. Esther was a wife and homemaker for 65 years with her late husband Gerald.
Esther leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly, her sons, Jerry (Sandy) and Richard (Linda) both of Des Moines and Robert of Mitchellville; sister, Evelyn Warren of El Cajon, CA; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald; grandson Bobby; great-grandson Jacob Gracey; parents, Lewis and Alice Theis; and her brother Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
