Violet Marie Gorman

Violet Marie Gorman, 92, took God's hand June 4, 2009 at Regency Care Center, Norwalk, IA. She was born September 12, 1916 in Grand Junction, IA to Edward Cunningham and Emma Viola Grimes. Violet was very proud to receive her high school diploma from the University of Nebraska and graduated with her daughter Linda in 1960 at Adel, IA.
She was a cashier in the property tax department at the Polk County Court House and worked part time at Norwest Bank. She loved to travel, play piano, and spend time with family and friends. She was a member of Women's Life Insurance Assoction and a past member of the American Business Women’s Association.
Violet is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Linda and Clarence Mattson, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husbands Herman Johnson and Edward Gorman, sister Ruby Erickson and three brothers Joseph Elmer, Harry and Marvin Cunningham.
A visitation will be held at Christ Lutheran Church Saturday, June 6th from 11 am to 1 pm with a service at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Iowa Health Hospices.
