Roberta Gallagher

Roberta Gallagher, 79 passed away Saturday January 20, 2007 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. She was born April 2nd 1927 in Perry, Iowa. Roberta was the daughter of Marvin and Evelyn (Elder) Book. Roberta attended high school in Washington County. She was united in marriage to Patrick Gallagher February 2, 1946.
Roberta had lived overseas and traveled extensively to Europe and Japan while accompanying her husband Patrick on his tour of duty with the United States Army. She was employed by for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years. Roberta was a member of the VFW# 9662 Ladies Auxiliary and Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny.
Roberta enjoyed reading, spoiling her dogs and spending time with her dear friends and family. Roberta found joy in helping others as she was always there for her friends and neighbors. She was truly loved by all who knew her.
Roberta is survived by her husband Patrick of Ankeny, a sister Sondra Daniels of Arkansas; as well as many nieces and nephews of whom she was very proud.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Agnes Elder; her mother Evelyn (Betty) Gray, sisters, Beverly Abalan and Delores Ford.
