Loretta Ruth Simerson, 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Mitchell Village Care Center. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour before service time. Burial will follow at the Altoona Cemetery.
Loretta was born November 16, 1923 in Waukoma, IA to Lydia and William Monroe. She worked at Artistic Manufacturing. Loreta liked to play board games, cook, work in her garden. She loved spending time with her family.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Helen Crise (Charlie); her sons, Randy, Robert Simerson, and Gerald Monroe; her 7 grandchildren and her 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lydia Monroe; sisters, Margaret and Evelyn; brother, Albert and daughter, Betty Cumings. She will be missed by all who loved her.

So Sorry that Grandma has passed on. She always made me feel very happy, comfortable and loved, wether it was by phone, mail or we were together. I love you Grandma, you will be missed very much. We're so sorry to hear about your loss. That close group of friends we had from K-12 always had several mothers. No matter who's house we were at or what ballgame or special event, we knew we had others who cared about us. Loretta was one of those we could always count on. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
