Felis Avila-Ochoa, age 68, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was born the son of Felipe M. Avila and Ramona Ochoa Avila on November 26, 1951 in Amhurst, Texas.

Felis enjoyed fishing, gardening and making friends everywhere he would go.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving children, Mark Anthony Avila, Ramona Avila-Aguirre, Felis Avila Jr. Marquez, Philip Anthony Avila and James Philip Avila along with 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and his significant other, Melissa Sater.

Felis was preceded in death by his birth parents Dionicio and Concepcion Ochoa.
Surviving siblings include, Ismael Ochoa, Isabel Cristina Ochoa, Selfia Ochoa, Genaro Avila, Frances Sanchez preceded in death by 13 other siblings.

Family will greet friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
