In Thammaroth, 70, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on September 20, 2020 surrounded by his family.

In was born on September 5, 1950, in Xienghon, Xaiyabouri, Laos. In Laos, he became a soldier and fought against the Communist Lao Party before moving his family to Thailand in 1979, after the Communist takeover.

In Thailand, he spent many years as a farmer before emigrating his family to the United States in 1989. He spent one year in Carey, Ohio before moving to Des Moines, Iowa in 1990.

In worked several jobs before finding his most enjoyable position at Windsor Windows and Doors. He worked there for 12 years prior to his stroke. His stroke forced him to leave the workforce, but he continued to enjoy every bit of life with many friends and family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Prior to his stroke, In enjoyed hunting and woodworking. When he was unable to do these activities, he enjoyed hanging out with grandkids, watching Animal Planet and eating sweets.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Panh (Sathalath) Thammaroth; his daughters, Keo (Nit) Tiengkham and Sisamone (Chad) Carman; son, Sang (Bane) Thammaroth; brother, Boun Yottavong; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tong and Kai Thammaroth; brother, Keo and sister, Douang.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, Iowa. Private burial to be followed.
