John Ortiz

John P. Ortiz, age 87, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020.

John was born January 29, 1933 to Francisco and Ramona Ortiz.

He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and crafts.

John is survived by his loving family: sister, Sopopa Martinez; nephew and guardian, Sam Ubaldo and wife Karen; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by numerous other siblings.

There will be a graveside service on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Glendale Cemetery, 4909 University Avenue, Des Moines beginning at 11:00 a.m.
