Floyd Stratton

Floyd Stratton, 88, passed away at Iowa Lutheran Hospital on September 13, 2020. He was born in Des Moines on April 14, 1932, the son of Floyd and Opal Stratton.

Floyd retired from Firestone after 25 years. He loved watching old western movies, but what made him most happy was spending time with his family. Floyd was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off of his own back. He was also a jokester who loved to kid around.

Floyd is survived by his children, Janet (Duane) King, Doug Stratton, Duane Stratton, Jane (James) Bingaman, and Frances (Tom) Seneaphay; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; as well as his brother, John (Elise) Stratton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; granddaughters, Chelsea Stratton and Christina Houghton (in infancy); great-grandsons in infancy, Noah Kester, Zachery Stratton, Jacob Stratton and Preston Stratton; and his siblings, Jimmy Stratton and Marian Bricker.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Garden, 121 NW 60th, Des Moines. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Pine Hill Cemetery.
