Robert "Bob" Hurley

Robert A. “Bob” Hurley, 70, passed away on September 3, 2020. He was born September 22, 1949 in Missouri to Robert and Roberta (Richmond) Hurley. Bob married Karen Densmore on March 28, 1970 in Wichita, Iowa.

Bob retired from Homesteader’s Life Insurance after years of dedicated service. He enjoyed, fishing, golfing, going to the gun range, woodworking, attending car shows, spending time at his property in Missouri and most of all, spending time with his family. Bob was a member of the Za Ga Zig Shrine and King David Lodge #407 AF/AM in Altoona. He was a fixture at the Fireside Grille in Altoona where he was affectionately known as “Budweiser Bob.”

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; children, Daniel (Kelly) Hurley and Wendy (Josh) Hollon; grandchildren, Brady, Trinity and Tyler Hurley; and brother, Terry Hurley.

Bob was preceded in death by children, Jonathan and Robyn Hurley; brother, David Hurley; 2 sisters in infancy; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Mitchellville United Methodist Church, 200 2nd St NW, Mitchellville, IA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 am on Friday at the church. Burial will take place at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Rose Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri.
