Glenn Gladson

Glenn D. Gladson, 84, passed away on August 29, 2020, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. He was born in Monroe County, Iowa, on July 23, 1936, to Leo and Esther Gladson.

Glenn went to school in Monroe County and was united in marriage to Joann Kraber in March of 1958. He worked as a fabricator, welder and mechanic at both AMF and Miller the Driller. Glenn could always be found out in the garage working on cars. Racing was a big part of the lives of his whole family when they weren’t working. He loved motorcycle, karts, and auto racing.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Joann; sons, Rick (Debi) Gladson, Russ Gladson, and Glenn Gladson, Jr. (Patty Williams); grandchildren, Kari, Jennifer, Shantell, Brittany, and Bailey; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Gladson; sisters, Carol Rae, Sue Douthit, and Patricia Fillman. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Juanita VanVeen and Ruth Williams; brothers, Clifford Gladson, Stan Gladson and Leo Gladson, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2020, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave, Des Moines.
