Dorothy Marie Jeffries

Dorothy M. Jeffries, age 89, passed away at Mercy Hospice in Johnston on Thursday, August 27, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born the daughter of William and Gladys Wiedmann on March 11, 1931.
Some of her hobbies and interests included gardening, tending to her flowers, rooting on the Hawkeyes and taking trips to the casino. Dorothy was a talented hostess who loved gathering her family together for holidays. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who attended all of her family’s events. Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Tim Jeffries, Terry Jeffries, Tom (Judy) Jeffries, and Sherry (Greg) Davidson; 12 grandchildren, Danielle (John) Osboe, Michael Jeffries, Lacy (Adam) Andre, Luke (Brandy) Judd, Dustin Jeffries, Tim Oxenford, Casey (Sarah) Jeffries, Joseph Jeffries, Ryan Davidson, Jason (Whitney) Davidson, Ashley (Micah) Dodd, and Josh Davidson; several great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; siblings, William Jr., Katherine, Irene, and Paul; and longtime companion, Howard Foust.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2020 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your mother. She sure was a beautiful lady. I met her once with Tom at the credit union. She was so friendly and happy to run into her son. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to all of you.

Jeffries Family, Sorry to hear about your loss. Dorothy will be missed. I got to see her briefly at Pat Nehring's Funeral. She always had time for a chat. Used to always stop and talk when she worked in Flowers at Target years ago. Now she is with her heavenly Family. Peace

We are so sorry for your loss; I worked with Dorothy at Target years ago and she was a kind, beautiful woman with a good sense of humor! We worked in the flower dept. so it is no surprise her loving them,She knew my husband,Bob, so she never seemed like a stranger from the moment we met!
