Alfred Junior Marvin

Alfred J. Marvin went to a peaceful rest on August 23, 2020 in Chico, CA. He was born to Alfred H. Marvin and Clara M. Pickering in Leon, Iowa November 14, 1925.

Al graduated from North High School in Des Moines and worked at Meredith Publishing for 39 years. He was married to his first wife, Norma Berry, for 45 years until her death in 1996; he married again to Linda Galland in 1998.

Al loved to be with his family, he had a great sense of humor, and was a lifelong Celtics fan.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, his children, Mike and Pat, his stepchildren, Jeff and Jennifer, grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Sarah, Spencer, Parker and great grandchildren, Luke, Madelyn and Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Paul.

Visitation will be 9-11 AM Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 S.W. 9th Street, Des Moines with Graveside services following at 11 AM at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
