Joyce A. Haines

Joyce A. Haines, 84, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2020. She was born on April 21, 1936, in Des Moines, to James and Frances Crawford.

Joyce graduated from Bondurant-Farrar High School in 1955 where she played on the girls’ basketball team. Following high school graduation, Joyce completed beauty school and later owned and operated her own salon. She was extremely grateful that she was able to stay home and raise her four children.

Joyce was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family and loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Her greatest title in life and one she was extremely proud of was “Granny”.

Joyce is survived by her son, Kirk Haines; daughters, Lynn Gilmore (Steve Fini) and Dawn (Eric) Elwell; 12 grandchildren: Kirk Jr., Jimmy, Luis, Chris, Casey, Ronnie, Kassady, Heather, Rachel, Lana, Chelsea, and Courtney; great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Connor, Jocelyne, Carter, Carson, Robert, Kylie, Ryker, Camden, Lily, Isla, Rhett, and Isabelle; sisters, Sheila Stanton, Diane Gilson, and Karen Frint, as well as other loving family and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Greg Haines, and brother, James Crawford.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life on Monday, August 24th at the American Legion Post 396, 315 2nd Street NW in Bondurant from 11am to 1pm.
