Fairel Morlan

Fairel Morlan, 71, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Fairel was born October 12, 1937 in Gornin, Missouri to Curtis and Mary Morlan.
Fairel graduated from Moulton-Udell High School in 1955. He lived in Des Moines for 53 years, where he worked for Dahl's as a meat cutter and retired from Price Cutter in Springfield, MO in 2005. Fairel was a member of the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.
Fairel is survived by his wife Kathleen Morlan; his children, Steve and Dan Morlan, Susan Powell, Debbie (Doug) McWilliams, Scott and Kevin (Kerry) Reed; grandchildren, Bryan, Kyle, Sarah, Megan, Lucas, Stephanie, Haley, Nicole, Tony, Jonathon, Taylor, Jacob, Katie, Erin, Jen, and Joshua; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; his siblings, Mike (Shirley), Allen (Phyllis) and Ron (Betty) Morlan, Annie Sawvell and Rose Morlan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Wendal Morlan.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street; burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Fairel.
