Marjorie Marie Lampkin

Marjorie Marie Lampkin, age 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Azria Health Park Place while under the care of Suncrest Hospice.

Marjorie was born June 9, 1923 in Moberly, Missouri. She had a very strong faith in God and enjoyed the simple things in life. Marjorie was a hard working person and was employed as a Laundry Supervisor for Bishop Drumm prior to her retirement. She enjoyed attending church and spreading the love of God. Marjorie was an excellent cook and was talented at crocheting. She was a friendly outgoing person and she also enjoyed watching soap operas in her free time.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Damon Head; her daughter, Marcella Head; her sister, Annie May Morton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving extended family and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her daughters, Marie Megruder, Pamla Lee, and Linda Winters; and her siblings, Mary Lee Grant, Johnny Lampkin, Billy Lampkin, and Samuel Lampkin.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines.
