Donald Michael Henry, 66, passed away on May 26, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. He was born on August 16, 1942 to Glenn and Oradell (Taylor) Henry. Donald graduated from Drake University and worked for AXA Equitable in Des Moines and in North Carolina.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron (Niki Fisher) and Darin (Alma Brkic); two grandchildren all of Des Moines; and brother James (Tamara) of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Lewis.
Services will be at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31 from 1 to 3:00 p.m. and the funeral service on Monday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m.

I am the bindery manager for Quebecor World, The Old Downey Printing. I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out and I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed knowing and working with Don. Don was always hard working and always a gentleman. We were all sad when he moved to North Carolina.
Don and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS I HAVE YOU IN MY PRAYERS AND KNOW HOW MUCH YOU WILL MISS DON. KNOWING HIM AS I THINK I DO,HE WILL BE PRAYING FOR ALL OF US. TOO.
DON AND I SPENT A LOT OF TIME TOGETHER WHILE I WAS AT BEAVERDALE ESTATES.IN FACT HE GOT ME MY FIRST JOB THERE. CALLING BINGO!!!! HE HELPED ME GET THROOUGH THE LOSS OF MY WIFE. HE ENRICHED NY LIFE SO MUCH..I REALLY MISS

I had the opportunity to get to know Don Henry when I worked in Des Moines Iowa. I worked from 1977 to 1985 and then moved to Charlotte NC. He was a great guy with a great smile and the biggest heart. He will surely be missed. We will keep him in our prayers. God Bless. Rita and Ron Lambe

I don't remember how we met or even the last time we spoke to each other. What I remember is his smile every time I saw him and the kindness that sprang forth at each meeting. I pray that your family has the peace that only Jesus gives and I will remember all of you in prayer.

I wish to express my deepest condolences to everyone. It was a pleasure and honor to know him. He made me laugh and I smile now, thinking of him. I pray that the LORD will give you strength in his going home and in the days ahead. I recieved this poem when my father passed away, I hope it gives you the comfort it gave me.
THE BROKEN CHAIN
"We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
