Rebecca Harkness, 52, went to be with the Lord Jesus, Monday May 25, 2009, at the Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines. She was born August 15, 1956, in Davenport, Iowa.
Rebecca enjoyed family, the Hawkeyes, loved fishing, camping, boating and telling jokes. She enjoyed going to church and being with her best friend and care provider Ben. Most of all she loved to laugh. She was an inspiration to all that knew her and she will be deeply missed.
Rebecca is survived by her sisters, Nancy (Danny) Morse of Avon, IL, Linda Harkness of Des Moines, IA, and Vickie (Mike) King of Crawley, TX, 8 nieces and 5 nephews, 11 great nieces and 9 great nephews.
No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Rebecca.

Linda,
Darrell and I send our deepest sympathies on the loss of Becca. She was a wonderfully sensitive women who truly loved life. Keira always spoke so highly of her time with Becca.
She will be missed.

I know Rebecca from working at Link Associates and also from her serving on the Link Associates Consumer Council for two years. Rebecca was an enthusiastic participant. I had the opportunity to go with her to the Iowa State Capitol, where she talked with her legislators. She was a great advocate for persons who have disabilities. I always enjoyed visiting with her at Link Associates and will miss her. My deepest sympathy to her family.
