Todd Wennerstrom

Todd Kenneth Wennerstrom, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2009, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA.
Todd was born on October 17, 1945 to Vernon and Maxine Wennerstrom in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Minnehaha Academy in the Twin Cities and later attended St. Cloud State and the University of Northern Colorado with degrees in educational administration and special education.
During his career, Todd held positions in education as teacher, principal, director of special education and superintendent. He loved music (especially his trumpet), camping, church work, playing and teaching chess and, most of all, time with family.
Todd is survived by his wife, Nadene; sons, Matthew and his wife Jantina of West Des Moines and David and his fiancé Carey of Kansas City; daughter, Megan and her husband Scott Thompson of Urbandale; grandchildren, Halleah and Mattalyn Wennerstrom and Ava Thompson; and many relatives and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Maxine Wennerstrom; brother, Kent; and grandson, Zach.
