Service Details
Marian Rachel Bowie, 87, was born August 2, 1933 in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Faye (Garrison) Bowers. She passed away peacefully Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Taylor House.
Marian is survived by her granddaughter, Megan Bowie of Prague, Czech Republic; daughter-in-law, Laura Bowie of Altoona; sister, Margery McCardell of Iowa City; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many special friends.
Per Marian’s wishes, there will not be a public visitation nor funeral. Private family only services will be held with burial at Zoar Cemetery in Newton, Iowa.

Marian was a great lady, with a loving and active faith. She was also a thoughtful and loyal supporter of the Altoona Police Department and everyone involved in public safety duties. Thank you, and thanks to your fine family, for all the service and support over the years.

Marian was one of the sweetest people I know. I know it was hard to continue without your husband Howard and son Andrew that passed before you. You sister Carol died earlier this morning so she could meet you at Heavens gate along with your sisters Jeannie and Ruth. May you find peace in all those family members greeting you. Love. Tami
