Carole Wallace

Carole Ann Wallace was born, January 30, 1940, in South Amana, Iowa to Don and Wilma Roggentine. Carole entered into her eternal life on August 12, 2020.
Carole lived in South Amana throughout her younger years. She then moved to Cedar Rapids to attend beauty school, where she became a licensed beautician.
Bob and Carole were married on October 15, 1961. To this union two children were born, Scott Andrew and Shawn Allen. Bob and Carole have celebrated almost 59 years of marriage together.
Carole was an accomplished barrel racer during her early years of marriage. When Bob and Carole's sons were young they relocated to Altoona, Iowa. Carole worked in several local beauty shops over the years and enjoyed meeting new people and creating lasting friendships. Carole was a bus driver for the Southeast Polk School District for over forty years. Her favorite job was driving the football and wrestling teams to their competitions. She also drove a school bus for several seasons in Wickenburg, Arizona, where she and Bob have spent their winters for many years. Carole loved watching and participating in team roping as well as owning quarter horses. She was an avid animal lover.
Carole is survived by her loving husband of nearly 59 years, Bob Wallace; sons, Scott (Tamara) and Shawn (Beckie) Wallace; grandchildren, Nicholas (Tricia), Zachary (Lexie), Grant, Jack and Sydnie Wallace; great-granddaughter, Vera Wallace; sister, Deborah Hawkes; sisters-in-law, Karee Roggentine and Marie Johnson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other loving relatives, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Wilhelmina; brother, Dewayne “Buddy” Roggentine, and her brother-in-law, Mike Hawkes.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Carole.
