Harold Wayne Mote, 68, died August 5, 2020 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born July 18, 1952 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines to Homer and Goldie Juanita (Hammer) Mote.
After graduating high school Harold joined the United States Marine Corp January 6, 1971 and was discharged as United States Marine Corp Lance Corporal on April 4, 1972. He loved fishing & Kayaking trips with his family and friends. He loved being Lizzy’s escort to her “First Dance”. Harold was always experimenting with all kinds of things and was known for saying “Dipping his toes in the water”.
Harold had a long loving relationship with his girlfriend, Mille who preceded him in death on January 13, 2020.
He is survived by and was loved by many who were always family, Michael & Kelly, brother and sister-in-law; Amy & Chad, daughter & son in law; Kevin & Andrea, nephew; Jami, niece; Tony, Beth, Lizzy (who thought of him as her hero & loved him greatly), Megan, Gregery, Dave, Deb, Irene, Milo, Clyde, Bradley, Brenda and Rick.
Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 19th at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, Iowa.

My uncle Harold Wayne Mote was a soldier,a peace keeper,and a business man. Lizzy and I are getting some of your ashes and Megan is getting presented with your flag and military medals. Thank you for letting me spend the time that I got to with u even though u left before our fishing license expired i will not let it go to waste
