How can we follow Elondas tribute. She has such a way with words.
I am simply heart broken. I dont know how Im going to get through this without his encouragement.
I never wanted to be married yo anyone else. Its always been him. We only needed each other. Oh yes we love our children, our daughter in laws, our grandchildren We could get thro anything life threw at us and we defeat those stumbling blocks. But I dont know how to go this alone. Maybe someday 10,000 years probably not then either. You gave me five of the greatest kids in the world. You are with Evonne now oh I know shes so happy she adored you too and was waiting for you. We all look to the day we will all be together once again, never to be separated again.
As I promised you no nursing home and no machines to keep your body around. Thats the promise we made each other. You just cashed in way too soon. And you left me with a broken heart. But oh such great memories and Children
I love you I miss you but one day soon well be together again.

Dad,
I never expected this in a thousand years. Not COVID. You just had pain. Took care of the pain, then WHAM, get told that news. Youre strong and so we all knew youd get through it. You went to rehab to help with strengthening the lungs. But COVID had its own agenda. Youd show improvement then turn the other direction, till we received the devastating news that you had a bad night and was now on life support. We couldnt even be with you to show we were there and you meant everything to us. NONE of us was ready to let you go. Even the strongest of people cant fight this horrid disease.
I will truly miss you every day. Your smile, your silly jokes, expressions, and just being there to listen. Youd come and help me around my home. Tell me what needs fixing and helping me fix things I could. You were always there. Its hard knowing you will never drive into my driveway any more. Call me to ask how to do something on your phone. Saturday dinners with you and mom. You LOVED our Saturday dinners. I know you did. You enjoyed it as much as I did. You were a great dad. You were hard on us kids but sometimes you needed to be. We had a lot of you in us. You were kind, gentle, and willing to show us how to do things. We loved your stories. Well never hear back when I, whatever it was, we knew you didnt do that but you always made it seem as if you had. At my office I have a picture of you slumped in a lawn chair sticking your tongue out. I laugh and smile saying thats my dad. You in DC at the Korean Memorial. Holding Connar when he was a newborn. Taking the steam engine train ride. Your racing days, Fire dept days. Wintering in Arizona. Taking the 4 wheelers into the mountains and across the desert. All truly wonderful memories of a great man whom I had the privilege and honor to call Dad. I will see you again someday, I know it. Give Sis a huge hug and I LOVE YOU.
Your daughter, Elonda
