Stacie Marie Campbell, 50, passed away August 2, 2020. Services will be held Thursday, August 6 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Stacie was born on September 10, 1969 in Sioux City, IA. She was adopted as a baby by Butch and Dorothy Smith of Des Moines, IA. She graduated from Dowling High School in 1987 and married her high school sweetheart, Chris Hotchkiss in April of 1988. Together the couple raised 3 children. Stacie was a busy sports Mom, transporting and attending volleyball games, cheerleading events, and football, baseball and basketball games at Grandview Christian School. She also worked for a time as a special education assistant at Oak Park Elementary. In her free time, Stacie enjoyed spending time with her friends, cheering on the Hawkeyes, and traveling. She and Chris divorced and Stacie later married Todd Campbell in May of 2017. The couple moved to North Carolina, one of Stacie’s favorite places. They later returned to Des Moines to be closer to family.
Stacie is survived by her husband, Todd Campbell; her children, Philip (Amanda) Hotchkiss, Casie Hotchkiss, and Emily (Jacob) Mohr; her dad and step-mom, Butch and Mable Smith; her grandchildren, Lincoln, Kennedy, Addison and Owen Hotchkiss; her brother, Steven (Pam) Smith; her mother-in-law, Shirley Campbell; and a host of loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Smith; and her brother, Daniel Smith.
