Joan (Davis) Lumbard, 86 years of age, passed away peacefully at her home in Windsor Heights, Iowa on August 3, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Through the years she loved to write encouraging articles about what God was teaching her. She was involved in most areas of ministry alongside her husband Del. She had a strong love and faith in God and loved her family and friends deeply.
She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her siblings, her son Richard “Ric” Lumbard and her infant granddaughter Alexandra Lumbard.

Dear Del and Family,
We just heard of Joan's passing from here to her heavenly home. What a wonderful, caring person she was. Such a great example of a life lived for Christ. I remember how Lisa used to always play with Joan's beaded necklaces when she held her. I remember how she stopped to buy a homeless man a hamburger on her way to church. May our Heavenly Father wrap His arms around you and comfort you. Love always.

Memory of Joan Davis
My first memory of Joan Davis was at the Open Bible Convention at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines, IA. Thursday night of Convention was Missionary Night. Joan was at convention with a group from Eugene Bible College. At the end of the slide presentation of all the missionary works sponsored by the Open Bible, the lights were still out. . . Joan sang "No Man Careth for My Soul thus cry the millions. . . Won't you give your life today to spread the gospel. . . her beautiful voice and the words of the song were absolutely the most captivating, heart grabbing experience of the evening. JoAnn

So sorry for your families loss. In the time we knew Joan she was classy, caring, loving, kind, helpful, tell you like it was/is woman of God. Always encouraging and uplifting no matter how she was feeling herself. She was Martha and Mary rolled into one. We will miss her terribly but rejoice knowing she is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Remember the past and cherish your memories. We will of Joan.

When we were just out of Bible college, we worked under Del and Joan; what a blessing! Joan was a precious woman of prayer, wisdom and spunk, and we treasure our memories of time spent with her and Del. She will forever be in our hearts as one who greatly impacted our lives and marriage. We will see you again, Joan, in His presence. We love you and are praying for Del, and the children and grandchildren.

God has given us a wonderful blessing of having you as neighbors and friends during these past several years. We love you both, Del and Joan. Joan was such a godly woman, quick to pray for others needs and to talk of our savior. You both have been a tremendous source of blessing & encouragement for us.
Your family will be in our prayers as you face the days ahead.

We shall all miss Joan until we are reunited in heaven. For now we are without one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. A real woman of prayer whose Love for Jesus showed always and who never failed to testify about Him. I am thankful that I got aquatinted with Joan these past few years at Windsor Place. It has been a real blessing for me. My prayers are now for Del and the family for Gods comfort in their loss.
