Rickey Orville Benton, age 72, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at his home in Mitchellville, Iowa.

Rickey was born October 15, 1947 in Gary, Indiana to Richard and Shirley (Knight) Benton. He was a self-employed cab driver and was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle fan. He enjoyed cooking, driving, cars, and spending time with his family. He was a very generous person who would give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his son Rickey Peppers, daughter Jessica (Allen) Sugar, daughter Melody Benton, daughter Christina Husted; grandkids Cody, Katlynn, Hailie, Addie, Kaiden, and Eva; siblings Richard Benton, Kathy Ameigh, Marti (Tamara) Schut, and Shari (Gloria) Schut; many nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend Wesley.

Rickey was preceded in death by his son Rickie Benton, brother Danny, sister Teri, and his lifelong friends Lydia and Billy.

Cremation will occur and there will be no formal services at this time.
