Michelle E. Jackson
July 31, 2020
Michelle Elaine Jackson was born April 10, 1991, to Gary and Judith (Childress) Jackson in Des Moines, Iowa. She was an avid competitive swimmer for East High School, from where she graduated, and for Des Moines Swim Team. Her family was her top priority and she was an outstanding mom. Being a mom was one of her greatest joys. Michelle was very active. She enjoyed going for walks with her family, going out to dinner, and she loved super hero movies. When she smiled her whole body would smile and her eyes would light up.
Michelle was a daddy’s girl, who never knew a stranger. She was bubbly, determined, fearless, and known to be a little stubborn.
Michelle started at ArtForce as a student, and progressed into production management. There she helped kids get their GEDs, get jobs, and get accepted to college. She was an integral part of fundraising for ArtForce. She was inspired by John Mark to pursue this path in her life.
She was the face of United Way, and was very involved in her community.
Words cannot express how deeply Michelle will be missed by all who knew her.
Michelle passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at the age of 29. She is survived by her husband, Mike Curl; daughter, Chloe Curl; parents, Gary (Deborah) Jackson and Judy Jackson; siblings, DeMarco (Amber) Turner-Jackson, Raymond (Angela) Jackson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m, with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Michelle.

I feel so deeply for her family right now. Michelle was an incredible person and friend to me. She was a rare soul. I'm holding a balloon vigil at Ashfield Park wendsday. This is completely seperate from the arrangments that have been made to lay her to rest. I'll have a hellium tank and markers as well as pieces of paper. One of the hardest things about death is the words left unsaid. This is our chance to send a message to heaven for our sweet michelle. We will gather at 6 and do balloon release between 630 to 7. All the love in the world goes out to all those impacted by the loss of this beautiful women. For her body may be gone but her soul will forever live on. I love you Michelle
