Mrs. Hattie Mae McGee

Mrs. Hattie Mae McGee was born October 31, 1922, to the late James Jackson and Corina Gearrine Jackson in Senatobia, Mississippi.
Ms. Hattie Jackson was united in holy matrimony to Uriah McGee in 1941.
Hattie, a phenomenal woman, a devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, leaves behind a Godly legacy. She accepted Christ at an early age in 1932 at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J. W. West and Rev. J. L. Payne. She began to serve in the choir, Sunday School, Kitchen Ministry and in the Stars of Hope Club. She also served on the Mother’s Board and Prime Timers at Corinthian Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Burton and Pastor Jonathan Whitfield.
Mrs. Hattie McGee is survived by: her son Uriah McGee and her daughter Delores Davis; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Hattie McGee was preceded in death by her son, Larry McGee and her daughter-in-law, Sandra McGee.
The family respectfully requests social distancing and the wearing of masks. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2020 also at the funeral home.

Mother McGee will definitely be missed. She was such a friendly, inspirational woman. I always loved to see her come into the church and looked forward to chatting with her at the end of service. Earth has lost a true warrior, but heaven has gained an angel. My prayers and condolences to the entire McGee family.

A True Lover of God..a servant..mother..example to others of Gods Favor..Grace and Love..may knowing this bring yhe family peace..joy and comfort..she will be Truly missed...
