Marilee York

Marilee A. York, 70, of Johnston, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at First Federated Church, 4801 Franklin Avenue. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Private burial will take place in Resthaven Cemetery.
Marilee was born September 16, 1936 in Pleasantville, Indiana. She married Robert York on August 29, 1954. Marilee had lived in Des Moines since 1957; she was a homemaker and had worked as a church receptionist. She enjoyed decorating, homekeeping, her family, and being with her many friends.
Marilee is survived by her husband, Bob; her children, Brenda (Mike) McCalley of Poulsbo, WA, Vicki (Jim) Berkley of Des Moines, and Dale (Shelly) York of West Des Moines; her mother, Dorothy Boyll of Bedford, IN, her sister, Kathleen Rollins of Bedford, IN; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Federated Church.
