My name is Michelle Salmon--I manage the floral dept. at the Park Ave. Hy-Vee store. I knew your father from frequent conversations--both in the store and over the phone. he was a very kind and thoughtful man. One afternoon--several years ago i was on my way home from work.--and i was following some one home that appeared to be lost, i followed him all the way down Evergreen Ave., past the Easter Lake area and almost to SE 35th street (my street). The man I was following home--was your Dad. He pulled over to the side of the road, i got out of my van, he said he was lost-- of course i recognized your father, and called him by his first name, he looked confused for a moment--but then he remembered who i was. I tried to explain to him the way back to indianola road, but instead i had him follow me back the way he had come. Both of us never forgot that day--we spoke of it often. He would tell me i was his guardian angel. I will miss the conversations with your father--he was a very special man.
