Hazel McGuire

Hazel G. McGuire, 82, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Fleur Heights Care Center. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2007 at True Bible Baptist Church, 4101 Amherst Street, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Hazel was born May 12, 1924 to John and Eva Green in Des Moines. She was a member of True Bible Baptist Church and retired from Drake University where she worked at Stalnaker Dorm. Hazel worked at the Iowa State Fair for ten years and was a seamstress. She was active in the East Des Moines Community Development and with the Des Moines School Board and Iowa Scouting Council.
Hazel is survived by her children, Mary Jane McGuire, Marvin, Delbert, and Manny McGuire, Margie Williams, and Marlene McGuire Stafford; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchildren; brother, David R. Green; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
