Service Details
Albert Avritt, 63, passed away Tuesday May 5, 2009. Services will be held Friday May 8, 2009 at 1 PM at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service.
Big Al was born on March 21, 1946 in Des Moines, IA to Pershing and Margie Avritt. He was a member of the Local 142 for 25 years.
He is survived by his daughter: Patricia Avritt; sisters: Patricia Avritt, Barbara Naset, Judy Avritt, Nina Hall, and Dorothy Avritt; brothers: Pershing Avritt, Gordon Avritt, Joe Avritt; grandchildren: Alberta Avritt, Ricki Avritt, Jane M. Avritt, Betty J. Avritt, Albert M. Avritt II, Randy Avritt, Anthony Avritt; and great-grandchild Brandon James and one on the way in July, Jayla Unique Thomas.
He was preceded in death by: wife, Jane and daughter, Tonette.

Dear Family,
I did not personally know your loved one but I wanted to let you know how sorry I am for your loss. I also recently lost a loved one in death and I wanted to share with you something that brought me great comfort. It is the hope that the Bible holds out for our loved ones. At John 5:28, 29 Jesus Christ promised that those who have died will be ressurrected back to life. When Jesus walked the earth he raised some from the dead to show that he had the will and the power to do so. (John 11:11, 14-44 and Mark 5:35-42) The Bible promises that God will wipe away tears, pain, sorrow and even death. It also promises that God will destroy the wicked and the righteous will possess the earth and live forever in an abundance of peace. (Revelation 21:3,4 and Psalm 37:10,11) Wouldn't it be wonderful to welcome back our loved ones to life in a paradise earth?
