Barbara Alfrey

Barbara Ann Alfrey, 58, of Des Moines, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Barbara was born on January 31, 1948. She retired from the State of Iowa after thirty five years of service.
Barbara is survived by one son, Shawn (Katrina) Millang; two grandsons, Devon and Zachary; three sisters, Judith Reeder (Ralph Fenton), Debra (Joe) Carra, and Robin Hillabolt (Richard Niemeyer); one step-sister, Joan Hobbs; her longtime companion, Rollie Robbins, Jr. and her best friends, Larry and Linda Hurr.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Reeder, her mother and step-father, Maxine and Ted Cook, and her husbands, William Smith and Martin Alfrey.
Barbara will be missed by her family and friends.
