Florence was very artistic. Before her sickness, she could could draw, do crafts and had learned woodworking. Though she struggled with the ability to read, she could look at any project and copy it without so much as a pattern or instructions. It was her desire to learn to read and go to college, and was working on reading even to the very end. We look forward to seeing her read in heaven. She worked at Burgin Drapery, where she learned custom drapery. She dreamed of starting a custom drapery/woodworking business out of her home.
Florence loved Jesus and had recently recommitted her life to Him. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. We look forward to seeing her again in the resurrection, in which we hope.
Florence is survived by her children, Cora Grannan, Richard Sexton, and Renotta Signs; son-in-law, Gary Grannan, ten grandchildren, sisters; Patricia Conrad and Renotta Hochstetler. Florence looked forward to meeting her first great-granddaughter, who is on her way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvis Meyers, her parents and her brother, Joe Carter.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ben Collins, Dr. Shahid Habib, Diane Holcomb, and all the Wesley at Home care providers for the loving care you gave our mother in her last days. We were touched by your compassion.
