Shirley Deskin

Shirley Ann Deskin, 74, of Des Moines passed away on May 1, 2009 at the Bright Kavanagh Hospice House. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday evening at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service at Oakview Cemetery in Albia at a later date.
Shirley was a devoted mother and wife and member of the Carlisle Christian Church. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life and later was a sales associate retiring from JC Penney.
She is survived by her children Linda Simoni of Pleasant Hill, Tom Deskin of Des Moines, Lisa Johnson of Des Moines, Tim (Krista Schmidt) Deskin of Indianola and Robert (Shelley) Deskin of Carlisle; her brother Richard (Beverly) Fry of Columbus, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Marie Fry and the father of her children Lyle Deskin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or the Humane Society.
