Wilda M. Stilwell, age 93, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 in Des Moines, Iowa. Wilda was born March 11, 1927 to Floyd and Hazel Jones in Lovilia, Iowa. She graduated from Lovilia High School and later completed a college teaching curriculum. Wilda worked as a teacher in a one room school for several years. After marrying Dale, she was primarily a homemaker while also working as a clerk for Look Magazine and as a sales associate for Sears. In retirement, Wilda and Dale split their time between Des Moines, Iowa and Apache Junction, Arizona. She loved to cook, travel, camp, and spend time with her family. She was an avid animal lover.

Wilda is survived by her children, Bob (Katie) Stilwell, Dan (Jill) Stilwell and Linette Stilwell; grandchildren, Holly (Romeo) Denghel, Marie Stilwell and Radu (Claudia) Denghel; sister-in-law, Barbara Stilwell; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; and her brother, Wilbur (Bobbie) Jones.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2020, with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Graveside service to follow at 1:30 p.m., at Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, Iowa. The family respectfully requests social distancing and the wearing of masks.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Immanuel United Methodist Church.
