Alison Logan Anderson Mulligan

Alison Logan Anderson Mulligan, age 84 of Des Moines died July 18, 2020. Alison went comfortably under the care of Taylor House Hospice from injuries related to her age and medical history.

Alison was born on February 28th, 1936 just minutes before leap day, a native of Scotland who married an American and made herself a citizen. She raised and is survived by two children: Saida Mulligan of Des Moines, Thomas Mulligan of St. Louis, and one grandchild Chloe Mulligan also of Des Moines.

Alison outlived her closest friends and many bridge partners and requested that no services would be held for her. Her surviving birth family members reside in Scotland, Spain, and Australia. She grew up a world traveler until a few years ago when injuries started to become a major part of her life. She was happiest in Scotland and frequently returned to her homeland for family visits. Her favorite things in life were family, friends, her Scottish Terrier dogs of which there was always one around, and contract bridge.

So sorry to hear of Alison's passing. Marilynn Wood also passed away in March 2020. She and Alison were dear friends who played bridge together. Mom also helped quiz Alison for her citizenship test. I also fondly remember spending time with Saida and helping Tommy with his paper route.
