John Rasmussen
John David Rasmussen passed away at the age of 48 on July 17, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, with Danielle by his side. He was born on June 17, 1972 to Leslie Morningstar and Carl Rasmussen in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
John was a baker by trade, and managed numerous Hy-Vee bakeries. He was very proud of his work. He was an avid fan of the Nebraska Corn Huskers and Green Bay Packers. John had a passion for music, and especially liked heavy metal. He enjoyed playing guitar, and inspired his children’s love of music. John liked to spend his time hunting and fishing, especially with his bow.
John is survived by his children, Nicolette (Jake) Jenkins and Jason (Jazz) Rasmussen; grandchildren, Tucker, Milo, and Link Jenkins; mother, Leslie Morningstar; step –father, Craig Peterson; siblings, Karla (Craig) Cannon, Sarah (Jarrod) Ellsworth, Adam (Nicole) Peterson, and Brian (Laurie) Peterson; girlfriend, Danielle Hedges; and many nieces and nephews who adored him.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 1, 2020 at Jester Park Shelter House #6, 11949 NW 118th Ave, Granger, Iowa at 10:00 a.m.

I am so sad to hear of John's passing. He was apart if so many lives and I will always have fond memories of John. My heart goes out to all of his loved ones as they deal with the difficult road ahead.
