July 15, 2020
Marcia Faye Vos, 71, passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of her family and friends on July 15, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Services will be held Thursday, July 23 at 10:00 am at Crossroads Fellowship Church, 1200 60th Street in West Des Moines, IA. If guests are not able to attend the service in person, the family invites friends to join them virtually, via the link below. Marcia will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Marcia was born March 29, 1949 to Eugene Koning and Nellie (Groenendyk) Koning in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Southern California and graduated high school from Valley Christian in Bellflower, CA and Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. She attained her Master’s Degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. Marcia taught for 35 years in various Christian schools in Iowa, California and Michigan. She had a tender heart for all her students, especially for her special education students. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, baking and needlework. She led many bible study groups in various churches that she attended throughout the years. She loved the Lord with all her might and had a true servant’s heart combined with more patience than any of her family could comprehend.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 49 years, Glenn; daughters, Jane (Nathan) Schelhaas and Joy (Darren) Vanden Berge; three grandchildren, Emmett and Finley Schelhaas and Dutch Vanden Berge; sisters, Shirley (Dale) Padding and Beverly (Jerry) Arends; and brother, Paul (Carolyn) Koning.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene, Nellie and step-mom Gerda (Van Leeuwen) Koning.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Glenn and Marcia Vos Scholarship Fund at Holland Christian School, 956 Ottawa Avenue, Holland, Michigan 49423.

Dear Glenn, Jane and Joy;
Our friendship started when we all went to Israel together some 20 years ago and it was fun to keep up and see each other almost yearly after that! So thankful that we spent some wonderful time last December staying in the same house in California and having a wonderful time together. So thankful she is a child of God and is home with Him now. We will continue to love and pray for you all.

Dear Glenn, Jane, and Joy. It's difficult to think of any of you without thinking of how Marcia completed your family just like she completed the OC family and church family. God gives us a limited time on Earth and Marcia made the most of her earthly moments. We praise God for her time here and hope you feel God's loving arms around you all .
