Rose Ramona Laws, 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 peacefully at home.
Rose was born February 21, 1941, in Tucson, Arizona to Adela and Ralph Ochoa. She graduated from Pueblo High School in 1960. Rose worked for Iowa Methodist Medical Center/Blank Children’s Hospital for 35 years.
Rose enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, all sporting events, going to movies, taking trips with her grandkids and husband, as well as watching all of her grandchildren in their activities. She retired in 2009, and enjoyed taking her grandson to school every day. Rose also loved her dog Pepper and cat Ebony who provided her with countless hours of companionship. This summer Rose enjoyed sitting on the front porch alongside her husband.
Most of all, Rose enjoyed spending time with her family; she loved and was loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph and Ronnie Ochoa; sister, Maggie Ochoa; and daughter, Sandy.
Rose is survived by her husband, Dennis, of 52 years; son, Matthew of West Des Moines; son, Andrew (Steph) of Austin, MN; daughter, Laura (Mike Fry) of West Des Moines; and grandchildren, Hannah Rose Fry, Kylie Nienow, and Austen Joseph Fry.
The family will greet family and friends on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 9:30-11am at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street with a funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
