I am so sorry for your loss...my thoughts and prayers to Dick and his families and friends...I worked with him at the Iowa Department of Education and he always had a joke to say or just to talk to him in passing in the hallways, at our work stations or elevator at workf ( I am sorry I did not see this until just today) 🙏💕😥

So sad to see this post. Richard and I grew up together at Wilson Jr High and Auburn High School both part of the band and class of 73. In the past couple of years I have offered him encouragement dealing with his illness. I lost my husband of nearly 40 years just two years ago this month to cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you family and friends reading this. May he Rest In Peace and know hes in a better place.

Dick will be missed my so many but in our hearts forever. He was a good friend and coworker. Many of times he would bring a calm answer to issues at work and was always there to help. I loved his stories of family, pets, fishing and life. He made me laugh so many times. The picture on his obit is perfect showing his great smile. My love goes out to Patti and the family during this difficult time. Just know I am there in spirit with you as you say good bye to a great man.

To the family of my childhood friend Richard, I am so very sorry. After many years, we connected again on Facebook and it was wonderful talking about the neighborhood days. He was in my thoughts often, as his family is now. I am so sad.
