Robert F. Graham, 75, passed away on July 7, 2020 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Des Moines.
Robert was born July 25, 1944 in Des Moines to James and Noma (Butcher) Graham. As a young man, he was a pastor. He later retired from teaching. Robert loved coaching basketball, golf and softball. He never quit thinking about coaching and teaching, yet never lost sight of what he loved most, God and family. Robert loved hanging out with his family, especially his grandchildren which were his pride and joy. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and beating his family in cards.
Robert is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Dan (Melissa) Graham and Scott (Angelica) Graham; grandchildren, Elizabeth Graham, Jimmy Graham and Dustin Teas; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gene Graham.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020 at New Hope Assembly of God Church, 4425 70th Street in Urbandale, Iowa. Robert will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I worked with Bob at Melcher-Dallas Elementary. Enjoyed visiting with him and seeing his smile. God bless you all and may He surround you with His love.

So sorry for your loss I am from Melcher-Dallas and he was always a great smile to see we when you walked to the top floor of the old elementary You always knew he was there to just sit back and take his time with you and a great smile when you might have been being a little ornery prayers to your family!!!!

So sorry to hear of Bobs passing. We shared a common passion:coaching basketball. I spent many hours watching his practices. He had a lot of patience. Great guy!
