William C. Eddis

William Eddis, 77, died peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
William was born October 16, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to Grace and Herbert Eddis. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He retired from Paxton Lumber where he worked as a Fork Lift Operator.
William is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Marquieta; his children: Bob (Lois) Eddis, Cindy (Rick) Johnson, Tom Eddis, Sue (Steve) Wilson, and Penny (Ron) Edwards; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; one brother; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown in loving memory of William.
