Dorri Lee Thompson

Dorri Lee Thompson, 61, passed away June 28, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Private burial will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Dorri lived in Des Moines and Ames all of her life, but was born in Denver, Colorado on April 22, 1959. The daughter of Doris Funke and Roger Clarkson, Doris was traveling when Dorri was born. Dorri graduated from Des Moines Technical High School and then attended AIB. She worked as an office manager, primarily in the manufacturing industry for all of her career. Dorri enjoyed cross-stitch, collecting birdhouses, and spending time with her family.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Brian (Elizabeth) Robinson and Amanda (Charles) Calkins; her grandchildren, Brieanna, Richard, Jakob, Savanna, Mackenzie and Ellie; and her brother, John (Tina) Funke. Dorri was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Michael Thompson; and her grandson, Josef.
