Patricia Shoning

Patricia J. Shoning passed away June 27, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center at the age of 81.

Patricia was born November 24, 1938, to Ralph and Mary Crouse in Des Moines. She was a hard worker and retired from Hilton Hotels, where she was a housekeeping supervisor for many years. Patricia’s sister-in-law, Bridget taught her to drive. She loved bowling and bowled at least three days a week. Patricia also loved playing cards with her friends, watching Elvis movies and making pottery.

Patricia is survived by her children, Roy Shoning, Debbie Shoning and Chuck (Jackie) Shoning; grandchildren, Britnie (Ben) Nerem, Jared (Nicole) Shoning and Josh Shoning; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronald (Bridget) Crouse, Johnnie (Zona) Crouse, Shirley Waddill and Lolly Trogdan; in-laws, Richard Lester, Bob (Linda) Shoning, Vickie, Jenny and Lana Cox; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Shoning; sisters, Jeanie Lester and Lolly Crouse; brother-in-law, Mel; and her daughter, Terry Shoning.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Glendale Cemetery.
